Water based siloxane clear sealer
General Features
ISOSIL and ISOSIL color are water based sealers formulated with special unsaponifiable siloxane resins. They have a high penetration and isolation power and do not alter in any way the permeability rate of the substrate.

Uses
Mineral substrates such as reinforced concrete, plasters and old lime paints.
Perfectly adhering preexisting paints or synthetic plasters.
They are also used as priming coat of the siloxane paints Novasil, Novasil Quarz and Novasil Velour and of the siloxane coating Rustiksil.
ISOSIL mixed with ERA lime paint, represents the ideal priming coat of all lime based finishing coats.
Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains. In most cases a light brushing off would do. Non-adhering preexisting paints must be removed with a paint remover containing no paraffin, or with a high-pressure washing treatment.
Application Procedure and Recommendation
ISOSIL used as priming coat of the siloxane paints and plaster coats Novasil, Novasil Quarz, Novasil Velour and Rustiksil: dilute 1:4 with water, depending on substrate absorption.
ISOSIL used as priming coat of the lime finishes Era and Marmur: mix in the same proportion with ERA lime paint; then add water in a 1:1 or 1:3 ratio, depending on substrate absorption.
ISOSIL color, used as priming coat of the siloxane paints and plasters Novasil, Novasil Quarz, Novasil Velour and Rustiksil: dilute with 40-50% of water, depending on substrate absorption.
Make a test first, in order to check that the substrate does not get any "glossy" reflections after the treatment with Isosil. If this should be the case, increase the water dilution rate. The best results are achieved when the product is applied with a brush, working from the top to the bottom. Roller or spray gun applications are possible too. Do not apply with rainy weather or with air or substrate temperature below 5° C.

Packaging and Shelf-Life
ISOSIL 5 - 15 lt pails. ISOSIL color: 15 lt pails: The packaged products, if stored at temperatures between +5 and 35° C, are guaranteed for 12 months.

Specification
Prior to the application of a siloxane finishing coat, and after adequate substrate preparation, (i.e. after removal of any non-adhering preexisting paints with a paint remover containing no paraffin or with a high-pressure washing treatment), apply ISOSIL (or ISOSIL color) water based siloxane sealer, manufactured by Firenzecolor, Forli.
Prior to the application of any lime finish: apply one priming coat of ISOSIL (or ISOSIL color) manufactured by Firenzecolor, Forli, after adequate substrate preparation, i.e. after removal of any non-adhering preexisting paints with a paint remover containing no paraffin or with a high-pressure washing treatment. ISOSIL (or ISOSIL color) shall be mixed in equal parts with Era lime paint and then further diluted with water, according to the manufacturer's instructions and at any rate trying to avoid a glossy finish. Apply the product with a brush, working from the top until the bottom of the wall.
