Decorative Architectural Trowel-On Coating, with Stunning Metallic Patterns

General Features

The DUNE collection consists of a water-based finishing top coat with metallic pigments, available as a silver or gold base. The effects achieved with this product remind of ancient tissues and are perfectly suitable for decoration of interior walls in classical and modern environments. DUNE is odorless, completely a-toxic and water-based. DUNE is a new product, which allows for designer quality results DUNE Silver is a neutral base, which may be tinted with Mixcolor by Firenzecolor tinting system or manually with universal pigments. DUNE is also available in Gold, ready for use. Dune can be used to produce a wide variety of dull or high sheen dimensional finishes, with amazing combinations of highs and lows.

Substrate Preparation

  • Substrates must be perfectly dry and dust-free. A sealing coat of Novaprimer (acrylic primer with fine quartz) diluted with 50-80% of water, depending on substrate absorption is usually recommended.
  • Base Coat: the application of one coat of NOVAMULTO, pure acrylic paint in one or two coats, white or in a color similar to the DUNE shade.
  • Wood and iron surfaces must be sealed with an adequate primer.

Application Procedure and Recommendation

DUNE may be applied as follows:

  1. Trowel led -on in two coats, over white NOVAMULTO.
  2. Trowel led on in one coat, over a similar shade of NOVAMULTO.
  3. With a roller: dilute DUNE with 20% of clean water and apply in two coats. Create with a plastic or steel trowel, while the product is still wet, small "textures" in the application, and scrape the excess of DUNE off with a firm pressure. This will create a beautiful reflective type of texture.
  4. With a roller, in once coat. Apply a second coat, highly diluted with a marine natural sponge, to create the popular "Damascus" effect. Any other tool, according to the professional taste can be used in order to create personal effects. In case of applications in public areas a further protection with CERA-WAX, FASE SILOSSANICA or CONSOLIDANTE is strongly recommended. (see technical data sheet).

Packaging and Shelf-Life

5lt pails. The packaged product, if stored at temperatures between +5 and 35° C, is guaranteed for 12 months.
